About The Printable Home

32 printable checklists, schedules and forms for running a house. Each one asks a few questions first, then builds a PDF from your answers. No account, no email address, nothing to sign up for.

Why generated instead of downloaded

Most printable checklists are a PDF someone made once and uploaded. That is fine until you notice half of it does not apply to you. A maintenance list written for a house with a basement, a lawn and a fireplace is mostly noise to someone in a third-floor apartment, and a moving checklist that says "8 weeks before" is asking you to do the arithmetic it should have done for you.

So these pages ask. How many bedrooms, what your winters are like, when you are actually moving. Then they print the list for that, with real dates on it and the tasks that do not apply left out.

Where the guidance comes from

Intervals, inspection points and line items follow manufacturer guidance and standard practice, with the sources listed on each page. The date the figures were last checked appears under the generator.

Sources disagree more than you would expect — furnace filter intervals range from monthly to annually depending on who is selling the filter, and water heater flushing advice depends on water hardness nobody asked you about. Where that happens, the page says so rather than picking a number and pretending it is settled.

What these are not

They are organisational tools, not legal or professional documents. A condition report from this site helps two people agree on what a room looked like; it is not a substitute for what your lease or your state requires. A home inventory helps you remember what you owned; your insurer decides what it will pay. For anything with money or a tenancy attached, check the rules that actually apply to you.

How it is built

A static site built with Astro. Every page is pre-rendered HTML; each generator is a small isolated component that only loads when you open its page, and the PDF library only loads when you click Download. Nothing you type is sent anywhere — the list is assembled and the PDF is written in your browser, which is also why it all keeps working on a bad connection.
